Privacy Policy

Effective 2 September 2026

Anglai is operated by Logit AI Labs Ltd ("Anglai", "we", "us" or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data when you use the Anglai website, applications and IELTS preparation services (the "Services").

By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described below. This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and Cookie Policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: first and last name, email address, login credentials and email-verification or password-reset information.
  • Learning profile: your chosen Academic or General Training path, target band and learning preferences.
  • Learning and test content: lesson progress, exercise responses, speaking recordings and transcripts, writing responses, reading and listening answers, scores, AI feedback and model-answer requests.
  • Communications: feedback, support requests and any information you include in those messages.
  • Subscription information: plan, subscription status, renewal or cancellation dates, discount-code usage and transaction references. Payment card details are collected and processed by Stripe, not stored by Anglai.

If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the account information that provider makes available with your permission, such as your name, email address or a provider-specific account identifier. Apple may provide a private relay email address if you choose to hide your email. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Services, we and our service providers may receive technical and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, timestamps, pages or features used, session events, error and security logs, and approximate location derived from IP address.

Microphone, audio and transcripts

Speaking mocks and certain lesson exercises require microphone access. We access the microphone only after you grant device permission and start a recording or speaking session. Audio, live transcription and resulting feedback may be transmitted to and processed by our real-time communications, transcription and AI service providers. You can deny or revoke microphone permission in your browser or device settings, but speaking features will not work without it.

2. How we use personal data

We use personal data to:

  1. Create, secure and administer your account.
  2. Deliver lessons, mocks, scoring, transcripts, AI-generated feedback and personalized learning features.
  3. Save and synchronize your learning progress and test history.
  4. Process subscriptions, manage billing and prevent payment fraud.
  5. Send essential account, verification, security and service communications.
  6. Respond to support requests and product feedback.
  7. Monitor reliability, diagnose errors, protect the Services and enforce our terms.
  8. Understand aggregated product usage and improve our content, models and Services.
  9. Comply with legal obligations and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We do not sell your personal data or share it with third parties for their own direct marketing.

3. Legal bases

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on:

  • Contract: processing necessary to provide the Services you request.
  • Legitimate interests: operating, securing, troubleshooting and improving the Services, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent: for optional device permissions or other processing where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation: processing required to meet applicable laws, accounting duties or lawful requests.

4. How we share information

We disclose only the information reasonably necessary to:

  • Cloud and infrastructure providers, including hosting, storage and content-delivery services.
  • LiveKit and related voice providers for real-time speaking sessions, audio transport and transcription.
  • AI and evaluation providers that help transcribe, assess and generate feedback on your submitted work.
  • Google or Apple, when you choose the corresponding social sign-in method.
  • Stripe and payment partners for checkout, billing, subscription management and fraud prevention.
  • Email and support providers for verification, password resets, service messages and customer support.
  • Professional advisers, authorities or other parties where required by law, necessary to protect rights and safety, or connected with a merger, financing, reorganization or sale of the business.

These providers may process data only to provide services to us or as otherwise described in their own notices when you interact with them directly.

5. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain your account, meet legal and accounting requirements, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by data type. For example, local drafts may remain on your device until submitted or cleared, while billing records may be retained for legally required periods.

You can request account deletion from Settings. Deletion removes or de-identifies account data from active systems, subject to reasonable backup cycles and information we must retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention or financial-record purposes.

6. Local device storage and cookies

Anglai uses browser storage and a limited essential cookie to keep you signed in, remember sidebar state, cache subscription status, save learning preferences and progress, retain writing drafts, remember listening volume and temporarily retain a discount code. See our Cookie Policy for details and controls.

7. International transfers

We and our providers may process data in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections, and assess providers' security and privacy commitments.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, encrypted network transport and restricted service-provider access. No system or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority. You may also update certain preferences, cancel a subscription or delete your account through the Services.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some rights are subject to legal exceptions.

10. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 18. A person under 18 may use the Services only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal data without appropriate consent, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the Services or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the Services or by email.
